As the county hospital system, JPS has been serving theresidents of Tarrant County for over 100 years. Job Summary:

  • Outpatient Clinic
  • 5x8 hour shifts (M-F)
  • Call (shared with other providers)

Duties and Essential Job Functions

  • Administers and maintains an educational environment conducive to educating the residents/fellows in each of the ACGME competency areas
  • Demonstrates experience in clinical practice, education, scholarly activity, and a career commitment to academic medicine
  • Provides a role model for family-oriented, continuous and comprehensive care in the office, hospital, and other community settings. This includes the performance of skillful history and physical examinations, effective diagnosis of diseases, ordering and interpretation of laboratory tests, and prescription and administration of effective treatments
  • Collaborates with operations/clinic directors regarding clinic resources, supervision, and a practice style that will emphasize family-oriented care and prevention
  • Adheres to all the duties as stated in the Medical Education Affiliation Agreements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effectively role model quality patient-centered, continuous and comprehensive, health care
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with patients, members of patients families, medical associates, administrative staff, and sponsoring organizations
  • Assist in the training of resident/fellow physicians and students as well as provide consultative assistance to faculty
  • Model effective self-directed learning and continuing education
  • Utilize current computer and information technology

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

  • Current Medical Doctor (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine
  • 3 years experience in palliative care, experience in training fellows/residents

Required Licensure/Certifications/Specialized Training

  • Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Texas
  • Board Certification in palliative care
  • Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
