Principal Responsibility

The Free Clothing Program (FCP) provides new and gently-used clothing to men, women, and children, at no cost. Through our regular services, we facilitate a shopping experience for guests in our boutique-style store. Guests can choose from our selection of casual wear, professional attire, warm weather clothes, and as available, linens, bags, hygiene products, and other accessories. The Service Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the success of the Hygiene Services department, particularly the ongoing services of the Free Clothing Program and Hygiene Hub. The Service Coordinator leads the collection of the department's service data, the administration of the Free Clothing Program's scheduling website and Referral Provider program, and coordinates the delivery of special events and services, among other responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Community Engagement

  • Leads Hygiene Services' engagement with external organizations and caseworkers who wish to refer clients to the Free Clothing Program and/or Hygiene Hub. Administers activation, maintenance, and exiting of Referral Provider relationships.
  • Act as a representative of the Hygiene Services department to external audiences and organizations in order to secure their collaboration or support.
  • Leads planning and coordination of special services and/or events implemented by Hygiene Services department.
  • Provides coverage of service functions in Free Clothing Program and Hygiene Hub as necessary.
  • Treat all guests with empathy, dignity, and respect. Seek to understand the other person's perspective and experience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively across cultures and an openness to learning about cultures not familiar to oneself.
Program Administration and Operations
  • Complete reports and all other paperwork neatly, legibly, and thoroughly.
  • Enter data and information electronically as required. Looks up data and reports electronically through a database as requested.
  • Understand and follow the organization's programs, policies, and procedures
  • Participate in regular training and development opportunities to increase personal capacity to apply innovative approaches to daily workflows, service delivery, and functions of the position.
  • Ensures the consistent and accurate ongoing collection, entry, and maintenance of service and participant demographics records for the Free Clothing Program and Hygiene Hub. Implements service data policies as specified by Learning and Evaluation department.
  • Supports Hygiene Services management in reviewing and interpreting service data on a regular basis and participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of services, policies, and procedures.
  • Leads administration of Free Clothing Program scheduling and service management website, FreeClothingSF.org (Wordpress platform), including the management of user accounts and customization of appointment availability settings.
  • Assists and works with all of the members of the Hygiene Services department in responding to the responsibilities of the work unit.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BA or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency and experience working with a variety of computer software programs, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), and preferred: cloud databases such as Salesforce or Efforts to Outcomes, and Wordpress website publishing platform
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to be polite, diplomatic, and firm. Can set limits and practice professional boundaries with guests, volunteers, donors, and coworkers.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and high-pressure situations in a self-composed and self-assured manner.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours and days (weekends and holidays required).
  • Ability to complete paperwork neatly and legibly.
  • Ability or willingness to learn to use information and communication technologies (computers, smartphones, and iPads) to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information.
  • Ability to be punctual, reliable, cooperative, and stay team-oriented.
  • Preferred: ability to lift and carry bags and boxes weighing up to 25 pounds over 10 feet, with attention to safety
  • Experience working in a non-profit or community-based social service agency with people experiencing homelessness or poverty desired.
  • Commitment to St. Anthony Foundation Statement of Values and a desire to work for a social services agency serving the poor.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
