What you'll doThe PCB CAD Library team develops and maintains the component libraries used in the PCB schematic entry and layout following IPC, industry, and Viasat standards. We are seeking a Sr. PCB CAD Librarian for this group.
As a Sr. PCB CAD Librarian, you will be required to design schematic symbols, footprints, and parts. You will also prioritize workload based off customer needs and address library related issues while maintaining Viasat standards and process improvements.
The day-to-dayAs a Sr. PCB CAD Librarian, you will provide support to our internal customers by creating schematic symbols, footprints, and parts that adhere to IPC, industry, and Viasat standards. You will also provide support internal to the library team by validating library parts and ensure they are within compliance with company standards. You may be required to work directly with other engineering departments regarding parts that are Viasat proprietary.
What you'll need- US Citizenship
- 8+ years of direct experience and expertise in library development.
- Highly proficient with Siemens Xpedition EDM library tools (e.g. EDM Library Cockpit and EDM Librarian)
- Deep understanding of IPC-7351 specifications.
- Ability to read and understand component datasheets.
- Ability to use various standards (IPC, Industry, and Viasat) and methods to develop schematic symbols and footprints accordingly.
- Have a full understanding of the interactions required with functional support groups (e.g. Component Engineering, Electrical Engineering, PCB CAD Design, etc.)
- Ability to continually learn new technologies and processes.
- Ability to problem solve and resolve issues through change control or other methods.
- Ability to travel <10%
What will help you on the job- Experience with Zuken CR-8000 library tools are a plus.
- Solidworks and AutoCad experience.
- Experience with working in Jira.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work optimally in a team environment.
- Agile PLM experience
Salary range $101,200.00 - $176,200.00 / annually
