Elizondo s Trucking is looking for an accounting clerk with a background in customer service to join a logistics company located here in Brownsville. In this role, you will be responsible for greeting clients and visitors to our office, along with providing administrative support in accounting.


To be successful in this role, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, a keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy. We will also be looking for competency in Microsoft Office with a proficiency in Excel. Prior experience as in either field is also helpful.


Accounting Clerk Responsibilities:


Performing basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, sending bill reminders, processing mail, filing, contacting clients to discuss their accounts, etc.

Maintaining a database, ensuring that records are complete and current.

Assisting with a variety of administrative tasks including copying, faxing, taking notes, and

Updating general ledger journal entries and credit card and bank account reconciliation.

Preparing accounts payable invoices.

Preparing and maintaining Excel spreadsheets.

Assisting with audit support as necessary.

Assisting in streamlining the accounts payable process.

Working with account receivable and others to resolve account issues when necessary.

Updating expense reports.

Processing, verifying, and posting receipts for goods sold or services rendered.

Processing and recording transactions.

Maintaining records regarding payments and account statuses.

Obtaining information from other departments to ensure records are accurate and complete and that accounts receivable ledgers and journals are up to date.

Generating reports and statements for internal use.

Ensuring Accounting Department runs smoothly and efficiently, and all customers receive excellent customer service.


Accounting Clerk Requirements:


High school diploma or its equivalent required.

Degree in accounting or related field preferred but not required.

At least 3 years experience in a similar role.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, and Outlook.

Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping with various tasks as required.

Proficient in Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Understanding of payments, accounting, and budgeting.

Excellent researching, problem-solving, and time management skills.

High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.

Ability to build relationships with clients and internal departments.
