Summary

  • Position Summary
    • Under the supervision of leadership, the cook is responsible for the preparation and presentation of food production during assigned scheduled hours. The cook will follow standardized recipes and work in a timely and efficient manner. The cook is required to comply with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and follow food production programs and procedures.

  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: See "Experience"
    • License/Certifications: Servsafe certified preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire.
    • Experience: Two years previous culinary training or cooking experience required. Previous experience with an healthcare environment highly desirable.
    • Knowledge of foods and food preparation.
    • Knowledge of the operation and care of kitchen equipment.
    • Basic knowledge of food service sanitation and safety.
    • Ability to work effectively with fellow workers and others.
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
    • Ability to learn the use and care of equipment, materials, utensils, and methods used in food service.
    • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
    • Ability to walk and remain standing while on shift.
