The Pet Care business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. **Job Summary**

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for reviewing supply plans based upon changes in forecast and customer demands. They will work closely with the suppliers to manage capacity constraints and ensure finished goods product is available to meet our customers expectations.

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**

* Develop supply plan for suppliers.

* Monitor SKU level forecast versus actual demand and revise supply plans as necessary.

* Manage supplier capacity constraints and make adjustments where necessary.

* Ensure supply plan keeps finished goods inventory levels in line with safety stock plan and achieves customer service level of 98% or higher.

* Update SAP to ensure data matches most recent supply plans.

* Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to advise of potential supply issues and communicate resolutions.

* Track new product launches and work with suppliers to confirm finished goods are available on schedule to meet our customers expectations.

* Help manage slow moving and obsolete finished goods SKUs for proper disposition.

**Education and Experience Profile**

* Bachelors degree in business or related area.

* 1-2 years of related experience.

**Required Skills**

* Strong Purchasing, Planning or Inventory Management background; APICS certification a plus.

* Comprehensive understanding of MRP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred.

* Experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods environment.

* Strong team player.

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong customer orientation.

* Proven aptitude for multitasking; ability to identify and manage a variety of high priority tasks and provide resolution in a calm and effective manner.

* Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.

* Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills.

* Attention to detail; excellent organizational skills.

**Work Environment**

Working conditions are a hybrid of remote and normal office environment.
