The Position:

In support of the success of the Service team and the Company as a whole, responsibilities of the Service Manager include:

  • Ability to make decisions quickly when needed and be responsible for decisions made
  • Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel
  • Integrate Sales and Engineering to ensure Burford equipment exceed customer need and provide feedback when changes/upgrades are required
  • Respond to customer inquiries and problem solving in a professional and effective fashion
  • Contact customer following all Service visits for the purpose of ensuring satisfactory results
  • Effectively communicate with others to diffuse or mitigate stressful situations
  • Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use
  • Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance
  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, termination, and disciplinary measures
  • Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill
  • Set performance standards to meet service goals of company deficiencies
  • Provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas
  • Responsible for service billings and managing other business metrics
  • Responsible for maintaining a budget and forecast for the department
  • Responsible for maintaining the Service Teams channels, creating new announcements and tasks

Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent job-related experience as above
  • Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience
  • Proven work experience in a leadership position
  • Proficient with navigating a computer and using Microsoft Office products

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and delegate work
