Responsibilities:

Job Roles


Safety

o Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.


Record Keeping
o Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other
documents as required.


Process Improvement
o Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in
unit/department based programs that supports the systems process
improvement goals.
o Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.


Role Specific Responsibilities
o Answering phone calls and relaying messages to appropriate staff
o Performs daily unit audits to ensure proper care and documentation of
safety and quality indicators
o Act as a liaison between the Nursing Unit, Quality Improvement, Patient
Relations, and other Essential Staff
o Assists Manager in achieving strategic performance goals
o Assists in preparation of and maintenance of fiscal decisions of
departments by overseeing inventory ordering and supply/equipment
management
o Assists manager with all ETO requests, responsible for approving/denying
these requests in API after collaboration with Manager
o Assists with control of daily staff rosters, collaborates with Staffing
Office, communicates staffing concerns with Supervisors and Manager
o Completes phone calls as needed, which may include follow up discharge
calls and scheduling patient appointments
o Programs staff phone assignments each shift into Epic and Responder 5
o Fax appropriate paperwork as needed, including referrals and other follow
up items at discharge, prepare transfer packets as needed
o Prepare Downtime packets and ensure current forms
o Maintain cleanliness of Nursing Station, disinfecting counter tops, phones,
and other equipment per shift
o Serves as department charge champion, assists manager in managing daily
financial responsibilities such as invoice approvals
o Facilitates communication between patients and families as needed.



Qualifications:

Education
High School Diploma required or equivalent
Associate Degree preferred


Licenses and Certification
NA


Experience and Skills
Technical Experience: 1 year experience in medical environment with knowledge
of Epic preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Demonstrate exemplary telephone etiquette and possess accurate keyboarding
skills
