Security Technician (NOC)

Our client, an international non-profit organization, is looking for a Security Technician to provide support to our client's daily security, network, server and application operations with troubleshooting and service restoration activities. This person will act towards security violations with the highest degree of technical aptitude and expediency. The technician role is also instrumental in completing a growing number of necessary operational service fulfillment activities with exceptional customer service as well as proactively performing maintenance activities and remediation of security vulnerabilities to prevent future service disruptions or security issues.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Entry level industry certifications and 1-2 years experience preferred, relating to infrastructure and network operations support
  • Strong analytical, time management and organizational skills
  • Consistent willingness to learn and apply new technology
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot networks and systems using monitoring/alert tools
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Network Management Tools (Linux/Cisco a plus)
  • Knowledge of basic IT security best practices
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently as well as be an effective member of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with ability to establish rapport with all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to execute both oral and written instructions
  • Flexible with ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
  • Availability to work shifts and after hours as needed/on-call
  • Ability to lift 30lbs, use basic hand tools, and use a ladder for overhead work
