Admissions Counselor


Job Details

The Admissions Counselor, reporting to the Senior Director of Undergraduate Admissions, is responsible for the recruitment of students in a geographical area. While most of the work will take place on Eastern University's campus, the position will also require seasonal travel to and from the counselor's regional area throughout the year, and include some evening, weekend, and overnight responsibilities. The selected candidate will join a dynamic, energetic team at a growing Christian university. (Note: Candidates with previous higher education Admissions Counselor experience may qualify for entry at Senior Admissions Counselor status.)

* Promptly responds to phone calls, emails and inquiries through Salesforce Dashboard.

* Meets with families on campus, and conducts presentations to small and large groups regarding the first-year admissions processes.

* Participates in open house events and assists in creating special events for the multicultural recruitment and admission of first-year students including on- and off-campus programming.

* Build and develop relationships with high school counselors, Community Based Organizations, and prospective students and families.

* Conduct admissions recruitment travel in an assigned territory with visits to high schools, college fairs, and other recruitment and yield events.

* Embodies values of caring and compassion, justice and integrity, competence and affirmation.

* Seeks to treat each member of the campus community with fairness, dignity and respect seeking a spirit of unity and harmony as we join together to achieve our common mission.

* Accomplishes other tasks as assigned by the Senior Director of Undergraduate Admissions

Must exhibit a personal understanding of, and operate in concert with, the Mission and Doctrinal statements of the University. A bachelor's degree is required. A proven ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally is essential. Proven effective relational skills are also required. Computer literacy (including Microsoft Office & Google Suite) is required. Current valid driver's license and availability for frequent regional travel is required.
