Job Description: The Senior Purchasing Agent provides support by creating purchase orders and submitting them to the suppliers. They can perform proper analysis to ensure accurate delivery of products and services while maintaining internal controls, operational excellence, and good customer service. Acquires quality material. Handles various stages of negotiations and evaluations of supplier bids, contract execution, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate purchasing transaction activities ensuring that company purchasing controls are in place and transactions are in compliance with corporate policies.
- Provide sound advice regarding scheduling, inventory planning and other control information based on your own collection, analysis and summarization of data and tends.
- Obtains quality material, delivered on time, including preparing and developing of strategies and tactics for negotiations, conducting negotiations and evaluations of supplier bids, contract execution, implementation, and administration.
- Resolves delivery/receiving problems and invoice discrepancies.
- Develops and manages effective relationships with internal departments, such as Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing.
- Develops and manages effective relationships with suppliers, including supplier visits and evaluations, and analysis of supplier performance.
- Identifies and develops new sources of supply where needed.
- Consolidates supply base and standardizes material.
- Attends training to stay current in field and represents Grote at meetings with professional associations and other organizations.
- Participates in product "make-or-buy," or outsourcing decisions.
- Handles obsolete and defective material.
- Resolve issues, serve as a resource in troubleshooting complex matters and insure that calls with questions are responded to in a timely manner.
Qualification:A Senior Purchasing Agent requires Bachelor's degree preferably in supply chain specialization and a minimum 10 years of experience in materials purchasing.
