We are seeking a skilled and professional French Court Interpreter to provide accurate and reliable interpretation services in legal settings for a contracted position. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of legal terminology, exceptional language proficiency in both French and English, and the ability to maintain impartiality and confidentiality.
Principal Duties & Required Skills
- Provide consecutive interpretation from French to English and vice versa during court proceedings, including trials, hearings, depositions, and client-attorney meetings.
- Interpret spoken and written communications accurately, ensuring the message is conveyed clearly and without alteration.
Requirements: - Must be US Citizen.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional interpreting experience, preferably in a legal or court setting.
- Proven track record of accurate and reliable interpretation and translation services.
Preferred Qualifications: - Certification from a recognized interpreting and translating body (e.g., NAJIT, ATA, or equivalent).
- Experience in law enforcement/legal environment.
- Experience providing interpretation in potentially adversarial situations.
