Our client are a global chemicals manufacturer. In support of a growing capital program, we are now hiring for a Capital Procurement Manager to lead both regional and global procurement initiatives.
The Capital Procurement Manager's primary responsibilities include:
- Leading a small team of procurement professionals.
- Researching, negotiating, establishing terms and conditions, and administering engineering and construction contracts, and vendor/supplier agreements to assure continuity of quality, supply and service at the best value.
- Provide early procurement involvement during the specification setting for the defined requirement, to ensure proper commercial viability. Providing commercial oversight, procurement, co-ordination, and expediting and contract administration for procurement transactions associated with Capital Projects.
- Be the key resource expert for construction and/or engineering, equipment contracts including local regulations, competitive markets, make bid analysis to facilitate contract negotiations and supply chain management
- Evaluate data on suppliers, market initiatives and is accountable for recommendations to Purchasing Management on cost savings initiatives.
Education & Experience:
- BS/MS in Business Administration, Logistics, Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience/knowledge of commercial activities associated with engineering construction projects. MBA and/or CPM would be desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Capital procurement covering both Equipment and Engineering / Construction Services
- Knowledge and experience in managing major engineering/contractor firms, as well as construction subcontractor base.
