Senior Environmental Scientist


Job Details

Keystone is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to join a successful and expanding team of environmental professionals in Texas. The role of the Environmental Scientist will be to support multiple projects, complete and preferably lead technical fieldwork, technical writing and drafting reports, and manage key tasks while serving in a support role for multi-disciplinary projects managed by others.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a field lead.
  • Terrestrial and Aquatic Ecological Field Surveys
  • Waters of the U.S. Delineations
  • Threatened & Endangered Species Investigations
  • Stormwater Sampling and Investigations
  • Prepare written reports and permit applications (CWA, CZMA, NEPA, etc.)
  • NEPA Development, including literature reviews and technical report writing
  • ASTM Environmental Site Assessments Phase I


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in natural science such as forestry, environmental science, biology, ecology, or related field.
  • Expertise technical writing skills and project management is a requirement.
  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience in providing environmental permitting services to the oil/gas industry (E/P sites, pipelines, etc).
  • Possessing existing clients and contacts and work that can generate revenue.
  • ArcGIS
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions for multiple days in the field
  • Technical writing skills sufficient to draft professional plans, technical reports, correspondence, permit applications, etc.
  • Experience in leading and performing field sampling techniques and using scientific equipment, such as hand-held GPS units, data entry devices (tablets, iPads, etc.), and other sampling equipment
  • Experience with federal, state, and local wetland and other natural resources permitting
