Position Overview: The Corporate Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in managing the financial activities. This person will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business objectives. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of corporate accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to senior management.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Develop and manage the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to establish financial targets.
  • Monitor budget performance and prepare forecasts to support strategic decision-making.

3. Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.

4. Cash Management:

  • Manage cash flow, including monitoring liquidity, forecasting cash needs, and optimizing working capital.
  • Oversee banking relationships and manage debt obligations.

5. Tax Planning and Compliance:

  • Work with external tax advisors to develop tax strategies and ensure compliance with tax laws.
  • Prepare and file corporate tax returns and manage tax audits as necessary.

6. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the accounting department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with SAP or Oracle is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting and analysis.
