As part of these plans our client are looking to add into their already high-performing commercial growing team.
Role
As a Grower you will be directly responsible for the planning and delivery of all greenhouse operations. In addition to this, you will be responsible for controlling all daily crop caring tasks. As a Grower, you will be expected to manage all employee annual performance, disciplinary actions, preparing the annual labor budget and working towards meeting the established goals and requirements of our clients customers.
Other headline accountabilities will include:
- Following the direction of the Head Grower / GM, ensuring optimum growing conditions all year round.
- Managing daily crop care efforts to maximize production and ensure proper techniques are used by you and your team.
- Coordinating with the crop care team on all assigned all crop care during both regular and interplant seasons.
- Working with the IPM Manager, sharing responsibility for pest and disease control.
- Ensuring crop work is completed within both time and quality parameters.
- Ensure cleanliness and adherence to all food safety policies and procedures.
- Managing annual activities such as crop clean out and planting of new crop in areas where required.
Requirements
To be considered for this excellent opportunity, you must have a proven track record of successfully managing and improving output within a commercial greenhouse or vertical farming. You must also have experience growing Tomatoes.
