Job Details

The School of STEM Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology of Vermont State University invites applications for Part-Time Faculty for the Fall 2024 Semester (August 26 - December 20, 2024).

The course to be taught is MEC 1011 S03 - Design Communication 1
6 hours of Lab/Studio per week - 4.02 credits
Tuesdays & Thursdays - 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

This course provides a basic understanding of the principles and technology of mechanical drawing and computer modeling as methods of documenting and communicating mechanical designs. It covers the concepts of geometric construction and orthographic, sectional, auxiliary, and assembly views and introduces dimensioning methods and types of fasteners. The student gains basic proficiency in using a Solidworks CAD program to build parts, assemblies, and detailed working drawings. Six hours of Lab/Studio per week.

Candidates may and are encouraged to apply to multiple Part Time opportunities but may not be considered for more than 9 credit hours per semester, per VSC-VSCPTF Bargaining Unit Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a master's degree, or bachelor's degree plus several years of relevant experience. Teaching experience is preferred.

Salary:
Based on credits previously taught per VSC-VSCPTF Bargaining Unit Agreement.
