POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Scheduler is part of the Job Management Team and is responsible for global scheduling of Jobs into the M1 ERP system. The Production Scheduler reviews the Customer's Purchase Order, creates Jobs in the M1 system that take into consideration providing for the best outcome to meet the Customer's product shipment needs and correlates that to Pequot Tool's production capacity, investment in ramp up costs, cash flow and inventory liability. The Production Scheduler establishes the priority level and push-outs on Jobs/shipments thru careful consultation with Pequot Tool's production, engineering & sales management teams, while striving for customer satisfaction at all times.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Examine customer purchase order documents & sales orders; creating Jobs based on the requirements provided for entry into the M1 ERP system.
  • Schedule jobs in M1 within the proper work centers; updating as needed to reflect current conditions.
  • Manage the job priorities list; providing for timely and accurate updating to reflect current conditions.
  • Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering.
  • Compile and prepare forecasts; identifying jobs within the M1 ERP system that is booked to reserve time for future needs.
  • Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, or customers to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
  • Provide for accuracy of the production schedules on M1 to reflect current conditions.
  • Actively participate in discussions and planning in the War Room, conferring with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study: Administration, Business Management

Experience: 1 plus years of experience in business administration, scheduling or related tasks Previous experience in administrative functions within a Manufacturing Job Shop is preferred.

Computer Skills: ERP Software, materials planning logistics and/or supply chain software experience is preferred. Must be proficient with programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Other Requirements: Members of the Order Management Team cross train to provide assistance to other areas such as Production Coordinating, Purchasing and Customer Service.

Modern manufacturing facility with cubical work stations. Position involves extensive computer work, telephone contact, contact with others and ability to strive for Team accomplishment.
