Job Details

The Facilities Technicianis a member of the Maintenance and Reliability team and typically working under the direction of a senior technician is responsible for performing PM's, facility work orders, and equipment repairs in a safe manner, ensuring correct processes and procedures are followed, and documentation is made. The Advanced Maintenance Technician works as member of the larger plant maintenance team and may be assigned to any open tickets or project as volume dictates. PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-5 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance
  • Demonstrated oral communication skills including the ability to communicate professionally with BAC customer and co-workers. The ability to share information verbally that is clearly understood and technically accurate
  • Have a safe work history and strong safety background. Knowledge of safety requirements associated with tasks
  • Ability to read OEM manual and follow detailed diagnostic and repair procedures (in other words have the ability to stop and do research prior to completing a task even under pressure)
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to change (Must be flexible on OT and changing work priorities)
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment with Allen Bradley 5 or 500 PLC's preferred but not required.
  • Experience troubleshooting and programming Allen Bradley Drive's preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated competent writing skills including the ability to document a process in a logical and coherent manner. Ability to communicate to supervisors and co-workers with written memos or email that are professional, concise, and clearly understood.
  • Competent in math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractional computations, and fraction to decimal conversions.
  • Skills related to facility repair including painting, drywall, and plumbing
  • How to troubleshoot basic electrical issues including following schematics/wiring diagrams and use digital multi-meter (DMM)
  • Principles of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and power transmission components
  • Competent in reading blueprints and reference drawings
  • Understanding of elementary and intermediate LEAN principles including 5S and basic continuous improvement techniques
  • Competence in welding, milling and lathe techniques
  • Safely use small power tools as required
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment including pallet jacks, lift trucks, jib cranes, and gantry crane
  • Ability to safely operate a man lift
  • Familiar with all appropriate procedures, policies, and standard work instructions for their area
  • Knowledge of all safety requirements associated with tasks
  • Computer skills include competence in locating relevant instructions and forms on the LAN, CMMS, or other databases

  • Work independently, address mechanical & electrical troubleshooting needs and complete open work orders
  • Performs PMs on all major plant equipment
  • Performs mechanical & electrical troubleshooting, breakdown repair, lubrication, and completes line maintenance changeovers.
  • Perform all other tasks as directed by the supervisor
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, power transmission components (e.g., screws, belts, vibrators, gearboxes, chains, sheaves, cylinders)
  • Basic knowledge of pumps, compressors, piping systems, etc.
  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing and piping systems including copper pipe fitting, PVC pipe fitting, steel pipe fitting
  • Knowledge of basic HVAC systems such as fan coils, air handling units, exhaust fans and make up air units. Maintenance of these systems will include filter changes, lubricating bearings, cleaning cooling coils, cleaning drain pans and checking / changing drive belts
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, equipment drawings, and equipment breakdown data
  • Competent in documentation of processes, procedures, and after-action report
  • Trains junior mechanics in general mechanical maintenance
