Position Summary

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an energetic individual to serve as Facilities Laborer. Under immediate supervision, this position will move furniture and equipment, assist with organizing and boxing closed case files, and perform delivery of records and files between offices throughout downstate Illinois. The position will operate various types of equipment and will assist with moves of facilities. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is interested in helping ensure the delivery and setup of resources needed to enable our employees to do their jobs. Job Responsibilities

* Serves as Facilities Laborer for Southern Region offices of DCFS

* Operates various types of equipment, such as pallet jacks, dollies, hand tools, ladders, power carts, stackers, postage meter, duplicating equipment, faxing and copying machinery, etc.

* Assists with moves of facilities

* Delivers and checks quantity and quality of paper supplies to ensure paper is available to all downstate offices

* Performs scanning of property control for downstate sites on an as-needed basis

* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

* Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of high school.

Preferred Qualifications

* 2 years of experience in a public or business organization performing facility moves of office furniture, equipment, etc. from one work site to another.

* 2 years of experience conducting inventories of facilities for a public or business organization.

* 2 years of experience in a public or business organization exercising basic knowledge of building maintenance equipment use and care in the performance of duties.

Conditions of Employment

* Requires the ability to pass a background check

* Requires the ability to travel and possession of a valid driver's license and travel to various locations throughout downstate Illinois

* Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds

* Requires the ability to use hand tools, power stacker, dollies, carts, and power jacks
