Financial Controller


Job Details

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent corporate financial strategy through a range of avenues such as managing and allocating accounts, financial statements, and tax data. The candidate will also be the point of contact for banks, auditors, and tax authorities.

Responsibilities

  • The Controller will report directly to the firm s partners, and will be responsible for all fund activities across accounting, finance, reporting, tax, compliance, and investor relations
  • The Controller will be responsible for performing all financial functions for Kinetic, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency in financial operations
  • Manage day-to-day financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity of financial information
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts for senior management and investors
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and investment strategies
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and relevant laws applicable to venture capital and private equity firms
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit and tax process
  • Oversee cash flow management and optimize liquidity to support investment activities
  • Monitor and manage banking relationships, including fund transfers and investment disbursements
  • Investment Portfolio Support:
  • Work closely with investment teams to assess the financial health of portfolio companies
  • Provide financial guidance and support for due diligence processes
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless coordination and communication


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial role within the venture capital, private equity or public accounting industries
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax, financial regulations and reporting standards
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
