The Work Program Facilitator plans assigned activities and provides instructional services designed to help inmates/residents learn and develop basic skills that will contribute to their development and successful re-entry into the community. This person will assist in identifying inmates/residents for appropriate job placement and schedules classes or work programs in accordance with policy, procedures and contractual requirements.
- Prepare work schedule and plan for assigned activities as directed by supervisor; submit schedule to supervisor for review.
- Conduct classes and activities at designated times and locations and instructs inmates/residents by lecture and demonstration on the proper procedures to perform tasks.
- Assist inmates, in groups and individually, with task assignments to present or reinforce learning concept.
- Assign activities and evaluates performance and progress, records results and issues progress reports as necessary or required.
- Create an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the inmates/residents while implementing the facilitys philosophy regarding instruction, goals, and objectives.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with an Associate's
degree is preferred. - Previous experience in skills training, instruction delivery or a similar position is preferred.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
