Equipment Support - Perioperative Services - Days


Job Details

The Equipment Support Tech is highly visible within the OR with responsibility to assist in the facilitation and coordination of the day-to-day activities of Perioperative Surgical Services (Main OR/PACU, ASC, and PSU) related to maintaining and repairing equipment. This job supports fiscal and time management objectives of Perioperative Surgical Services by seeking and coordinating clinical and administrative services through effective interactions with the healthcare team and other support staff.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:

AHA BLS HCP Certification

Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of three (3) years of work experience maintaining and repairing mechanical and/or electronic equipment/devices to include:

Identification and resolution of equipment problems

Preventive maintenance

Inventory management

Previous work experience using a personal computer and troubleshooting both hardware and software issues.

Experience PREFERRED:
Previous work experience in a healthcare setting and experience with regulatory compliance standards.

Education/training REQUIRED:
High school or equivalent

Education/training PREFERRED:

Two years of technical or mechanical training/education

Independent action(s) required:
Coordinates activities and scheduling of meetings with company representatives.
Assists in monitoring expenditures related to environmental/equipment repairs, upgrades, replacements.
Assists in coordinating evaluation of new supplies and equipment, scheduling meetings, and maintaining security processes and systems.

Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A

Primarily weekday hours but must be willing to work flexible hours depending on the needs of the unit and department.
