Position Summary: Responsible for proper and efficient organization of the shipping & receiving team daily workflow. Ensure proper on-time fulfilment of all Magnolia Bakery outbound orders (E-commerce/ Wholesale and Catering/ Internal transfers). Uphold the core values of the organization and its mission while consistently presenting and promoting brand integrity, product quality and customer service standards.

Salary: $50,000-$60,000/yr

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the fulfillment of facility shipments by monitoring and assisting in all aspects of order lifecycles and assigning shipping team duties as required, including proof of deliveries, label batching and sorting, product transfers to owned stores, third party warehouses, and other partners.
  • Coaches the staff, conducts scheduled performance reviews and monitors promotions and compensation for hourly staff.
  • Responsible for all shipping supplies and merchandise inventory, purchasing and end of period inventory counts.
  • Oversee receiving of all food, packaging materials, shipping supplies, merchandise, and other items.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and improve shipping KPIs with Sr. Shipping and Logistics Manager and Senior Director of Supply Chain.
  • Perform regular root cause analysis of shipping errors and complaints with Sr. Customer Service Manager and Sr. Shipping and Logistics Manager. Suggest and implement corrective actions, escalate to relevant departmental channel as appropriate.
  • Work side by side with Operations Coordinator on shipping policy and procedures.
  • Key user for shipping-related software, ShipStation, Netsuite, and other ERP platforms by maintaining and creating SKUs for internal databases and mapping.
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
  • Foster an encouraging and positive environment while adhering to the necessary practices of progressive discipline, managing the process up to suspension, pending investigation, for terminating offences, to maintain a safe and productive workplace.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of manager experience overseeing 10 or more employees in a food service or retail service environment.
  • DOH food handlers required.
  • HAACP certified (Preferred)
  • Forklift certified (Highly Preferred)
  • Intermediate computer proficiency (MS Office, ShipStation, Netsuite)
  • Leadership skills include a strong ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group of individuals.
  • Excellent communication, supervisory, management and customer service skills.
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • High energy person able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Follows policies and procedures.
  • Understands expectations of the role and works within boundaries of the role.
  • Must be able to work on weekends or holidays if it is required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in communicating with guests, coworkers, and management.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
  • Position requires standing and walking for 3-5 hours without a rest break.
  • Occasional moderate to heavy lifting and carrying, bending, and reaching overhead may be required.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
