SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the General Manager, the Day Box Truck Shuttle Driver (DSD) is a key link between the corporate warehouse and our satellite locations. Each DSD's goal is to transfer customer orders in a safe, timely, and efficient manner from one warehouse to assigned satellite locations in surrounding states, ensuring items are ready for afternoon deliveries by our satellite fleet.

The successful candidate will be a capable driving professional with demonstrated experience driving commercial vehicles.

Specific Responsibilities:

* Operate commercial company 16-22 ft box truck safely and efficiently to assure safe transportation of parts, returns, and paperwork to and from our main warehouse and satellite locations in surrounding states.

* Working knowledge of the rules and regulations involved in the safe operation of automotive equipment and observe traffic laws, follow established traffic and transportation procedures, and maintain defensive driving at all times.

* Loads and unloads parts safely, arranging cargo to avoid damage. Verifies the contents and condition of inventory loads against shipping papers and maintains a timely schedule.

* Checks deliveries and pick-ups against inventory and roster to ensure all parts are accounted for.

* Reports delays, accidents, changes in route assignment, mechanical problems encountered with vehicles or other traffic and transportation situations, or complications with delivery.

* Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on vehicle maintenance and condition reports, incident reports, and accident reports--as scheduled, necessary or as requested from management.

* Provide other services or related duties as requested by management and simple vehicle maintenance (fueling a vehicle, clearing snow and frost from windshields and mirrors, etc.)

* Previous commercial vehicle driving experience is required.

* A clean Motor Vehicle Record.

* Valid Drivers License.

* Valid DOT Medical Card.

* Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

* General knowledge of and interest in automobiles, including parts and functionality, is desired.

* A high school degree or equivalent is required.

* Multi-lingual skills are desired.
