**Job Description:**
Performs any combination of following tasks to assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, products, or systems:
* Read blueprints and specifications to determine component parts and assembly sequence of electromechanical unit.
* Assemble parts or unit & attach unit to assembly, subassembly, or frame, using hand tools and power tools.
* Perform basic assembly operations to exacting tolerances; work with rotating shafts, gear trains, mechanical structures, and sprockets.
* Use measuring instruments to level and align work, detect and eliminate run-out, work to close tolerances with a demand for square, concentricity and parallelism.
* Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spotface bolt holes in parts, using drill press & portable power drill.
* Position and align parts, using fixtures, jigs, and templates.
* Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies.
* Attach name plates and marks identifying information on parts.
* File, lap, and buff parts to fit, using hand tools and power tools.
* Inspect, test, and adjust completed unit to ensure that unit meets specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
* Disassemble unit to replace parts or to crate for shipping.
* Assist with the detection of defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to proper supervision.
* Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.
* Comply with company standards for attendance and hours of work.
* Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Supervisor and/or Team Leader.
* Maintain work area & equipment in a clean, orderly condition, informing supervisor of defective or faulty equipment or materials & unusual conditions, maintaining quality standards and following safety rules.
