Job Details

Position Summary: Provides assistance, guidance, and direction to patient, visitors, and vendors. Obtains accurate patient demographic and billing information, receives authorization to bill, treat, admit and waiver signatures as required. Collects co-pays and co-insurance payments and prepares receipts. Coordinates diagnostic and treatment activities for multiple services with Davis Health System. Evaluates the patient's third party payor and diagnosis to ensure medical necessity when appropriate.

Position Qualifications: Minimum Education: High School or equivalent Preferred Experience: One year of experience in customer service Basic knowledge of medical terminology and third party payers Skills: Other Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to prioritize Multi-tasking efficiently and effectively Working knowledge of computer Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy Skills: Machine Multiple-line telephone system Personal computer Credit card machine Copier Fax Calculator Physical Demands: Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and felling are necessary body movements Reading and comprehension ability Must be able to read and write legible Ability to exert in excess of 50 pounds of force occasionally to move patients or objects Manual dexterity to operate basic office equipment Handles emergency or crisis situations
