We are seeking an experienced Permanent Dispatcher to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry. This exciting role is integral to our operations, requiring the individual to be responsible for coordinating our fleet's movements, managing on-call rotations, and ensuring optimal productivity and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent teamwork skills, capable of navigating the fast-paced and ever-changing landscape of the Manufacturing industry. This is a full-time, permanent role that requires the ability to work in a high-pressure environment, with a focus on problem-solving and effective communication. The schedule is Fri-Sun 6pm to 6am.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and coordinate the scheduling and movement of our fleet to ensure timely delivery and optimal use of resources.
2. Handle on-call rotations, ensuring 24/7 coverage and rapid response to any issues or emergencies.
3. Field inbound and outbound phone calls, acting as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and other stakeholders.
4. Work collaboratively with other departments to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency.
5. Utilize fleet management software to track vehicle locations, monitor maintenance needs, and analyze performance data.
6. Develop and implement strategies to improve dispatch procedures and reduce downtime.
7. Respond to emergency situations or equipment breakdowns, coordinating rapid and effective solutions.
8. Ensure all operations comply with company policies and relevant regulations, maintaining detailed records as necessary.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a dispatch role, preferably within the Manufacturing industry.
2. Proven experience in managing on-call rotations and fielding phone calls.
3. Proficiency in fleet management software and other relevant technology.
4. Exceptional communication and teamwork skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
5. Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
7. Self-starter with a proactive approach and a strong sense of responsibility.
8. High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or certifications in logistics or a related field will be considered an asset.
