Exciting news! Advantage Resourcing is seeking a skilled Glue Line Operator to join their team. Read on for more details about this rewarding position!
Pay: $15-$17/hr
Schedule: 6 am-7 pm. Please note that the work schedule (both days and hours) varies and is subject to change based on facility needs. Overtime, holiday, and weekend work may be required.
As a Glue Line Operator, you'll play a crucial role in the production of plywood panels by laying up pieces of veneer, feeding veneer, and running lines. Additionally, you'll perform plant clean-up duties to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Seeking opportunities to improve efficiency and uptime and providing recommendations to the Supervisor.
- Providing input to the Supervisor on maintenance needs.
- Sweeping up sawdust and veneer scraps with a push broom.
- Painting various plant equipment and materials.
- Cleaning hydraulic units, mopping floors, and scrubbing sinks, toilets, and other equipment.
- Ensuring all veneer being laid up is usable and properly aligned.
- Patching veneer and ensuring proper coverage of glue spread on all veneer layers.
- Notifying the lead line operator or supervisor of any issues with veneer moisture content.
- Cleaning trash off top panels.
Requirements:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, rules, signs, and memos.
- Basic mathematical skills for counting and performing simple calculations.
- Understanding of production numbers, goals, and quotas.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
