Job Description

The successful candidate for this position will be an experienced dozer operator, and they must have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Responsibilities and requirements of the position include but are not limited to:

Minimum Starting wage is $24.00/hr. Starting wage based on experience, finish grade experience starting wage will be based on skill level.

Overtime is available and extensive medical and retirement benefits.

3-5 years of experience operating a mid to large-size dozer is required.

Operate a dozer and other heavy or grading equipment to complete grading and fine grading tasks.

Ability to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency and in challenging and unique terrain environments.

Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.

Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.

Effective communication skills applicable to position.

Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

Qualifications

Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Minimum 3-5 years of finish and fine grading experience while operating a D6, D8, or similar mid to large-size dozer is required.

Ability to utilize GPS for grading applications - preferred.

Previous experience operating other pieces of heavy construction equipment is preferred.

Previous experience operating a motor grader is a plus.

Distinguish and understand signals.

Read and understand grade stakes.

Use both hands and feet at the same time.

Work in an environment with noise levels that may require hearing protection.

Must be able to hear and understand commands from supervisors, warnings from fellow workers, and alarms on equipment.

Able to use mechanic's hand tools and tape measure.

Able to crawl and climb on, over, under and inside construction equipment.

Lift and carry objects and materials of various weights up to 100 pounds.

Good vision, both close-up and long-distance, and ability to look forward, side to side, and toward the rear of equipment.

Must have good reliable transportation to make it to and from work.

Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.

Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed.

Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration requirement.

Must be Drug Free and able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and possess a Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

35-hour Weather Guarantee after 30 days of employment, must be available to work 6 days during the seven-day work period. Hours guaranteed up to 35 hours (example: worked 20hrs, Actual Pay 35hrs; worked 38hrs, Actual Pay 38hrs). Weather pay is accrued on weekly accumulation, not hours per day. Holiday pay counts toward the 35-hour guarantee.

Paid Holiday Shutdown period between Christmas and New Years in addition to

7 paid holidays throughout the year.

Paid vacation - Accrued during the first year starting at 180 days, 2 weeks at 1 year; 3 weeks at 5 years; 4 weeks at 20 years of service.

Annual performance-based merit increases.
