Generate new business production and retention of own book of business through the sale of commercial property/casualty and life/health products. Provide leadership, supervision, motivation, and assistance to agency staff. Demonstrate a superior understanding of coverages and programs to fulfill customer and agency goals. Ability to set, monitor and achieve goals for agency. Work with all staff to prevent E & 0 situations and assist in developing internal controls for staff. Recruit and select qualified personnel and research new agency opportunities for growth and/or expansion. Develop close working relationships with companies for agency advancement. Portray agency as professional, productive, and cooperative to our carriers and the general public. This position reports to the Regional President.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

  • Active, determined pursuit of prospects and acquisition of new customers.
  • Work closely with producers and account managers to retain current customers.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex tasks, projects and people simultaneously in a time sensitive environment.
  • Conduct performance reviews with all managers and discuss staff raises with managers.
  • Attend self-development and continuing education courses as requested including CPCU, CIC, or ARM courses.
  • Position and promote agency in community to build a positive image and increase awareness
  • Ensure that all agency procedures are communicated and adhered to by all employees
  • Provide sales leadership to production team
  • Ability to promote strong positive atmosphere with agency staff
  • Responsible for public relations and agency advertising activities
  • Recruit and train new producers
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement initiatives to increase cost savings, efficiency or effectiveness.
  • Ensure goals and milestones are communicated and understood by all the employees
  • Ability to motivate and promote best behaviors and procedures from management, sales, and service staff
  • Any other duties and special projects as needed in meeting or exceeding agency goals.

Required:
  • Licensed in property/casualty and life/health (or able to obtain)
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • High school diploma or GED
  • This position requires routine or periodic travel which may reuqire the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position
Preferred:
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in business or related discipline
  • 4-5 years of experience in a similar position
