SUMMARY

The Director of Advancement is responsible for developing and executing the vision and direction of Sacred Heart Academys advancement organization. He/She serves in a key leadership role reporting directly to the Schools President. The Director works closely with the President and senior staff to cultivate and forge relationships with existing and new donors, community partners and other key stake holders. This position will oversee a small team including the Director of Alumni relations.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine annual giving strategy and report on progress regularly on achieving fundraising goals.
  • Collaborate with the President and Advisory Board to support fund key institutional priorities.
  • Manage the Leadership Donors pool including alumnae, current and past families, and friends.
  • Broaden the Major Gifts program and draft grant proposals.
  • Identify new strategies to inspire alumnae to stay engaged and give back.
  • Manage alumnae engagement programs including regional events and Reunion Weekend.
  • Oversee parent volunteers for special events including annual auction and golf tournament.
  • Implement best practices in data processing, reporting, research, and donor relations.
  • Manage a stewardship outreach plan for endowed funds and its donors.
  • Incorporate a Planned Giving Program into the school's strategic fundraising plans and goals.
  • Manage all program budgets for Development and Alumnae Relations
  • Model and encourage an atmosphere that supports the Catholic mission of the school and fosters a diverse and inclusive culture that celebrates a culture of philanthropy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five years of successful philanthropy and community relations with significant experience in donor relations, communications, community relations, grant writing major gifts and planned giving.
  • Fundraising experience and a track record of success in annual giving, preferably in an independent school
  • Proven ability to build relationships with donors, leadership volunteers, and key constituents.
  • Excellent strategic planning, organizational and program management skills as well as strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong technical skills especially internet related platforms, donor database and social media platforms. (MS office and Blackbaud Raisers Edge preferred).
  • An innovative and entrepreneurial thinker who can adapt to todays changing educational environment.
  • Driven team player who uses good judgment and communicates effectively.
  • Availability to travel and work special events on weekends and evenings.
