On Call Caregiver for Topeka and Lawrence Caregiver

If you are an experienced Caregiver and have flexibility in your work schedule, Home Instead has a unique opportunity for you. This position is designed to assist our team with filling Caregiver Shifts for call-offs and other scheduling needs, transporting clients and/or other Caregivers. Once established, you will also have the opportunity to work in the Topeka and Lawrence offices answering calls and assisting with daily activities.

• You must be available for various hours 5 days per week, including 4 weekend days per month.
• Fill Caregiver Shifts as a result of call-offs or other scheduling needs.
• You will transport clients to appointments and other needs
• You will transport other Caregivers to their shift when needed, as much as 45 miles one way and back. The company vehicle may be used for these transportation assignments.
• Answer phone calls in the Topeka and Lawrence Office during business hours (8am to 5pm) and after hours as Office On-Call as needed.

Pay: Starts at $16.00 per hour. Opportunity for additional pay based on years of experience in Caregiving and various administrative duties.

You are also eligible to participate in our Caregiver Retention Program where on day 60 of your service you will receive $300 for a Full-Time hour (28 or more hours per week) and $150 for Part-time hours (16-24 hour per week).

Job Requirements

• Education: High school or equivalent education (Preferred)
• Experience: Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)
• License/Certification: Driver's License
• Work Location: Caregiving duties are performed at the clients home.
• Some in-office training as needed.
• 3 years of driving history required.
• Clean, well maintained and insured transportation
• Motor vehicle, criminal background checks, and drug screening, including marijuana required.
