Job Description: General Warehouse Worker with Forklift Experience
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and reliable General Warehouse Worker with experience operating forklifts to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude towards maintaining an efficient warehouse environment. This position involves various tasks within the warehouse, including loading and unloading shipments, organizing inventory, and operating forklifts safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and organize products and materials.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks, ensuring accurate inventory counts and proper handling of goods.
- Efficiently stack and organize products in designated storage areas, following inventory management procedures.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts and equipment, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to ensure smooth and timely workflow, assisting in picking, packing, and shipping orders as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Assist in conducting regular inventory counts and reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and addressing them promptly.
- Follow company policies and procedures for safety, security, and quality control in all warehouse operations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, reporting any challenges, incidents, or improvements that could enhance warehouse operations.
- Adhere to proper handling and storage techniques for various types of products, including hazardous materials if applicable.
- Participate in training programs to stay up-to-date with warehouse procedures, safety guidelines, and equipment operation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator, with a valid forklift certification/license.
- Prior experience in a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and order fulfillment.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items on a regular basis.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and communication purposes.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to warehouse operations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
