Works within the Information Technology Division and supervises the long term and day-to-day activities of the Hardware Management Section which is comprised of technical employees (including contractors) involved in a variety of maintenance and new projects. Ensures that documentation of network equipment and change processes are acceptable for use by technical support team members. Assists in the development and updating of the Department's Strategic Plan for Police IT networking equipment to ensure information is delivered efficiently to the end user devices. Reviews vendor statements of work and interacts with vendor management on an on-going basis. Provides technical guidance to agency staff. Coordinates with county IT for subjects related to networking, security, storage, and databases. Ensures that data contained on Police servers is secured in compliance with appropriate IT practices as well as county IT security requirements.
