Essential Job Duties:

Supervision and Compliance:

  • Supervise activities and personnel in assigned Registration areas, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Develop and enforce new processes/procedures for standard work, maintaining adherence to departmental policies.

Training and Evaluation:

  • Oversee orientation and training for new hires, ensuring comprehensive training in all job aspects.
  • Complete performance evaluations and corrective action plans as assigned by the Director.

Accuracy Monitoring:

  • Monitor and audit the accuracy of information obtained by Registrars.
  • Ensure accurate collection of all registration documentation.

Relationship Building:

  • Foster a good working relationship with staff and collaborate closely with Care Management, Patient Financial Services, and Medical Records.

Hands-On Support:

  • Actively participate in the registration process, providing assistance as workload demands.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Keep superiors informed of significant matters and keep staff updated on system changes or compliance issues.
  • Submit regular progress reports and provide direct follow-up with staff to address problem areas.

Staffing and Scheduling

  • Ensure adequate staffing and scheduling, collaborating with the Director to evaluate needs.
  • Prepare payroll for Director review and approval.

Goal Alignment:

  • Align daily work efforts to meet the annual goals of the department.

Additional Duties:

  • Perform other job duties as assigned by the Director of Patient Access.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Experience: 5 years Hospital or Medical Office experience related to Registration and/or Billing.
  • License/Certifications: CHAA, required. CHAM, preferred or obtained within 1 year.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Epic-EMR knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Insurance and Medical Terminology.
  • Basic LEAN understanding.
  • Requires knowledge of State and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Typing speed of 50 WPM.
