Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist
Location: Harker Heights, TX 76548
Job Type: Permanent
Shift: 36 hours per week (7 p.m.–7 a.m.)
Job Requirements:
Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a chemical, physical or biological science OR Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician studies, or a chemical, physical or biological science associates degree.
Preferred Job Requirements:
ASCP or equivalent. Certification within a specific area, i.e., M (ASCP), H (ASCP), and C (ASCP), qualifies.
Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical technology specialist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Scientist within a clinical laboratory.

Description for Job Board
- Functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the performance of clinical laboratory testing that pertains to patient care and diagnosis.
- Performs routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation.
- Promote professionalism and interact with colleagues in a way that promotes a cooperative working environment.
- Display the technical expertise necessary to ensure timely and accurate results of laboratory procedures.
- Ensure specimens are obtained and processed in accordance with laboratory guidelines.
- Demonstrate proper communication skills to relate pertinent data or information about the patient or laboratory sample to the appropriate care provider.
- Support organizational priorities to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Attain the required competency and demonstrate the ability to follow procedural directions and protocols.
- Exhibit problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and evaluate critical laboratory results.
- Participate in the training and mentoring of new employees, students, or interns, including lectures and bench techniques.
- I am able to prioritize and organize my workload and assist other coworkers to maintain productivity.
- Demonstrate proper infection control practices, proper patient identification, and proper prompt specimen transport.
