Director of Operations Or Operations Manager (based on experience)

Our client is a boutique Wealth Management firm in the Portland, Maine area and they are looking to bring onboard a Director of Operations.


The primary responsibility involves overseeing the daily operations of the firm, aligning with strategic goals, and managing strategic priorities. Assisting the Managing Director in talent strategy is pivotal, including identifying operational needs, managing all hiring processes, conducting compensation reviews, and implementing the human capital program.


Responsibility extends to supervising client servicing and operational associates and overseeing trading for the firm. Part of the role also revolves around developing a seamless service model for clients and managing quarterly billing and firm's technology operations.


Ideal candidates will bring 7-10+ years of Financial Services experience, including exposure to performance reporting systems, excellent Excel skills. Ideal experience in the Wealth Management space and FINRA licenses are a plus.


  • 5-10+ years of experience
  • Experience with reporting, able to have technical conversations
  • Very advanced Excel, able to speak with the Outsource IT Teams
  • Experience with billings, projects
  • Wealth management experienced is a big plus
  • Knowledge of Custodian systems (Schwab is +)
  • FINRA licenses a +
  • Must be comfortable with using technology
  • Managerial experience is ideal
