Job Details

The role of the Staff Accountant is to manage the accounting and financial reporting process for their assigned territory. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for month-end closings, financial reporting, preparation of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and analysis. This is NOT a Remote Position and you must be able to commute to our Allendale office. This position upon training is hybrid. Prepares and creates journal entries as necessary. Prepares bank reconciliations and supporting schedules. Plays a key role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing procedures. Prepares accurate, reliable, and timely financial reports. Analyzes variances in income statement and balance sheet accounts. Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinates consolidation and evaluation of financial data; prepares special reports for Accounting Manager Assists with assessment and implementation of internal controls, including risk identification and prevention. Prepares and submits sales tax returns for assigned territory. Maintains and reconciles fixed asset schedules. Handles special assignments and responsibilities as requested by the supervisor including, but not limited to, ad hoc financial analysis. Provides assistance to internal and external audit functions including preparation of audit schedules. Strong general accounting and reconciliations skills Great Plains software with FRX experience Strong Microsoft Excel skills Advanced math skills: ability to calculate figures, amounts, and percentages, and apply concepts of mathematics relating to financial calculations Must have initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively Ability to maintain highly confidential information Strong interpersonal skills to interface with all disciplines and levels Resourceful with exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills, ability to troubleshoot with keen attention to detail Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing demands with a strong sense of urgency Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
