SUMMARY:
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized team player to join our Protein Production Team in Biologics Department. This individual will work on mammalian expression and purification of therapeutic proteins and help to maintain our protein inventory. The incumbent will interact closely with the rest of the protein production team, as well as Molecular Biology and Bioanalytic within a dynamic, enthusiastic, highly interdisciplinary, and collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Perform mammalian cell culturing and cryopreservation;
- Express engineered fusion proteins via transient expression in HEK and CHO cells at multi-scales, ranging from high throughput micro-scale to multi-liter production scale;
- Purify proteins using chromatography tools including preparative FPLC, Tecan Fluent or similar liquid handling instruments;
- Perform a variety of characterizations on protein samples, including SDS-PAGE, CE-SDS, HPLC analytical SEC, protein quantitation, Octet titer analysis of bioprocess samples and endotoxin measurements;
- Compile QC reports with data for cross-functional teams and prepare COAs;
- Track sample requests, aliquot, and deliver samples to internal teams and external partners;
- Enter all data into laboratory notebooks and databases and generate weekly summary reports; and
- Regularly participate in and present data and analyses at protein production team meetings and department meetings.
Required Qualifications- BA + 4-7 years or MA + 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Experience with protein expression and/or purification is preferred
- Experience with GE AKTA Pure, liquid handling systems such as Tecan, LabChip CE-SDS and Agilent FPLC's is a plus
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail is essential
- Familiarity using a LIMS system or a scientific database is a plus
- Works well in a cross functional team environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
