Ensures the safety of pool patrons and assists with aquatic programs and pool operations. Performs work safely in accordance with departmental safety procedures. Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practices to Director of Aquatics or Pool Manager.
***QUALIFICATIONS:***
- Must possess a valid American Red Cross lifeguarding certificate and American Red Cross first aid certificate.
- Must be certified in American Red Cross Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), for the Professional Rescuer.
- Must have knowledge of water rescue methods, lifeguarding, first-aid practices and techniques and possess the ability and skill to carry out water rescues.
- Knowledge of swimming pool operations to include: sanitation, maintenance, and safety.
- Must have a service attitude to courteously and firmly interact with pool patrons.
***OTHER:***
- Must be available for emergency and scheduled work requirements on evenings, weekends or holidays.
- Must be available to work flexible shifts.
- Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 30 lbs.
- Requires long periods of sitting, standing, frequent bending and water contact.
This is a seasonal position that would run from mid-May through Labor Day.
