What is the position?

The Director of Procurement will manage the procurement of high-quality products, ensure reliable order fulfillment, and optimize supplier incentives. You will collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.


What are the responsibilities?

As a Director of Procurement, you will:

  • Lead Procurement Function: Take charge of all aspects of procurement, including sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management.
  • Drive Supply Chain Performance Optimization: Continuously seek opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the supply chain, from sourcing to distribution.
  • Cultivate Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and distributors to ensure reliable and high-quality supply.
  • Identify Strategic Partnerships: Scout for new partnerships that can improve product quality, enhance competitiveness, or provide access to new markets.
  • Cost Management: Implement strategies to minimize the total cost of ownership while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier reliability.
  • Data Utilization: Harness data analytics to manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and make informed strategic decisions.
  • Cost-Saving Initiatives: Continuously identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for process improvement within the procurement function.
  • Demand Planning: Translate sales forecasts and market trends into a demand plan to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Stock Monitoring: Regularly monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overages and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Purchasing Needs Identification: Anticipate purchasing needs based on demand forecasts, market trends, and production schedules.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.


What are the requirements?

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of procurement experience, with a focus on perishable products and high-volume procurement.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams, with a track record of achieving results.
  • Education: College degree preferred, ideally in a relevant field such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to leverage data and analytics to drive strategic procurement decisions and optimize supply chain performance.
