Autajon Boston: Located in the greater Nashua, NH area Autajon Packaging Boston is a full-service packaging provider offering traditional folding cartons and a variety of other innovative styles. Some of our well-known customers are Lindt, Hersey, Godiva, and Ferrero Rocher. We currently employ 100 regular full-time employees year-round and roughly 80 seasonal employees. The Nashua facility is located 30 minutes outside Boston, an hour from the ocean and one and half hours from the mountains making it a great place for the outdoors person to live or to raise a family.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary objective of this role is to collaborate effectively with all managers and supervisors to ensure the timely procurement of materials and supplies essential for meeting production requirements.


PRINCIPAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Work closely with the Scheduler and Managers/Supervisors to assure that all material needs are on hand to meet customer and operational needs.
  • Communicate frequently with the Sales and Production Teams to assure accurate flow of information to meet order needs.
  • Responsible for monthly and annual inventory process and reporting
  • Help coordinate monthly and annual inventory accuracy with the Cost Accountant and Material Coordinator
  • Handle all invoice reconciliation relative to pricing or quantity differences.
  • Control roll truck schedule with understanding of how it effects manufacturing needs, cash flow, space limitations.
  • Establish vendor relationships that best suit the needs of the organization as a whole; regionally, nationally, and corporately.
  • Monitor supplier services with the intent on being able to establish annual vendor rating.
  • Collaborate with QC Manager to maintain ISO requirements related to Purchasing.
  • Maintain weekly contact with Operations Manager on Purchasing level of Involvement for all vendor related service issues.
  • Maintain and support clerical duties needed to support the Epicor Purchasing system.
  • Develop and maintain professional purchasing relationship with our vendor pool.
  • Investigate and propose to management any alternative option to a shortage or a significant price change.
  • Negotiate with vendors in conjunction with Sr. Management/COO and make appropriate purchasing decisions based upon vendors' offerings, pricing, and terms.
  • In case of significant raw materials quality issues affecting the commitment with our clients, negotiate compensation with the appropriate vendor.
  • Prepare any report requested by senior management related to price/cost analysis related to purchasing activity.
  • Perform other tasks and as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers and suppliers.
  • Handling the administrative documentation related to all purchasing responsibilities.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a related Purchasing function preferred.
  • Inventory control experience helpful.
  • In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process.
  • Excellent negotiating skills are essential.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel and other database tools.
  • Excellent communications skills : written and verbal.
  • Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
