**Description**

**Major Responsibilities:**

* Colloaborates with vendors and carriers resolve service issues and improve performance.

* Reviews vendor requests to change transportation mode.

* Code carrier late deliveries or pickups in system.

* Gather spot quotes as needed.

* Manage transportation vendor compliance.

* Review and approve carrier accessorial charges and freight allowance for billing.

* Work with carriers and freight auditing company regarding invoicing issues.

* Prepare daily and weekly reports as assigned.

* Perform qualitative and quantities analysis using a variety of tools to solve transportation related business problems.

* Assist in developing and implementing savings and process improvement programs.

* Solve problems using analytical, practical, & critical thinking skills

* Understands and demonstrates Essendants Core Values.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

**Skills/Knowledge Required:**

* Basic understanding of all modes of transportation

* Demonstrated competency in MS Excel

* Experience working in a transportation management system (TMS)

* Strong analytical skills

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Capable of working cross functionally and within a team environment

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

**Education and Experience:**

* Minimum 3 years experience

* Bachelors degree in Transportation, operations, logistics, supply chain management preferred
