Style Crest is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manufacturing Production Scheduler. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling and purchasing production materials to align with the production schedules. You will create and maintain the production schedule based on direction from the master scheduler/director of purchasing, place vendor orders to ensure materials meet production schedule requirements, create internal material transfers, and make inventory buying decisions to minimize total costs within established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Scheduling: Create and maintain the production schedule based on the replenishment model. Schedule and execute rail car location spotting and manage lease track.
  • Inventory Management: Make decisions on inventory buys within department guidelines. Enter orders for materials required to meet production and monitor material deliveries to ensure they meet expectations, reporting all variances to management.
  • Material Transfers: Review MRP to determine packaging needs and create internal material transfers to move packaging from the warehouse to production.
  • Inventory Monitoring: Monitor inventory levels to ensure they meet the company s production schedule. Assist in developing inventory planning levels to reflect normal business and anticipated changes.
  • Vendor Communication: Maintain regular communication with vendors to stay informed of all issues that might affect supply and costs. Work with vendors and production to expedite orders as required.
  • Issue Reporting: Communicate to management any issues that could affect inventory cost, availability, service, or quality as soon as they surface.
  • Data Maintenance: Maintain item maintenance within the company s systems to ensure data is current and accurate. Track historical material use.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Meet with management and vendors as required to ensure alignment. Represent the purchasing team in cross-departmental teams as requested.
  • Problem Resolution: Work with vendors, purchasing, and accounting to manage invoice variances/credits and resolve inventory discrepancies. Address quality, damage, availability, and delivery issues with vendors.
  • Physical Inventories: Manage and/or assist in physical inventories, including on-premise counts and reconciliation. Communicate product/supplier concerns and opportunities to manufacturing and the Director of Purchasing.
  • Support Purchasing Team: Assist the purchasing team with all assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree and/or 5 years experience in inventory management or a related business field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in planning/scheduling.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust and manipulate production schedules accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-changing work environment.
  • Good understanding of purchasing costs, including discounts, freight, warehousing, and quality.
  • Ability to multi-task with good presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • 3 years of experience with AS400 applications. Competency in Excel and Word.
