Job Title: Production Supervisor
Pay Rate: $85,000/year
Location: Anderson, IN

Job Duties:

  • Supervises and coordinates daily production activities and ensures that customer requirements and production demands are met daily.
  • Implements action plans and objectives set for the manufacturing area.
  • Maintains a safe and organized working environment, ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal (EPA and OSHA) regulations, initiating safety improvements, and ensuring that all associates are trained in the proper and safe use of production-related equipment.
  • Ensures proper associate training and initiates processes that ensure in-line quality and on-time delivery to the customer.
  • Develops and implements departmental goals, action plans, and objectives.
  • Supervises, trains, and develops staff.
  • Completes performance evaluations and initiates disciplinary action.
  • Assigns workloads and allocates resources based on staffing and production needs.
  • Establishes standard workflows and procedures for production personnel.
  • Ensures production personnel are complying with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operator guides and following safety rules and regulations.
  • Organizes and facilitates daily production department meetings.
  • Assists operators with troubleshooting and resetting of machine faults to maintain uptime.
  • Participates in employment interviewing and hiring decisions.
  • Ensures that production reporting and documentation is accurate, and that information is entered correctly in shop floor systems.
  • Maintains 5S/3D practices in the production area.
  • Supports efforts to reduce waste and energy consumption.
  • Leads and participates in continuous improvement activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 1 - 3 years of previous experience in production supervision, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of assembly or machining lines and mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot.
  • Print reading and parts inspection abilities.
  • Strong computer and math skills, experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally and communicate with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to supervise, motivate, coach, counsel, and train.
  • Ability to effectively create and maintain a teamwork environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions, and recommend effective corrective action.
  • Ability to organize, plan, allocate resources, and prioritize in order to meet multiple overlapping and competing deadlines and strict timelines.
  • Strict attention to safety.
  • Ability to initiate and lead continuous improvement activities.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or off-shifts as needed.
  • Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or in a multi-cultural environment is a plus.
