JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Helper contributes to the overall success of the Production department by providing coverage within all production positions for personnel on vacations, absences and personal days. The Helper is required to float within all positions as determined by business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate and maintain the continual running of machines/ equipment, unless on a break or malfunctioning of the unit.
- Comply with safety policies/ procedures.
- Utilize downtime and change overs to clean area, stock supplies and prepare for the next run of product.
- Keep lead person or supervisor informed of any unsanitary/ unsafe practices, poor quality product, or other non-favorable conditions that may be occurring in the plant.
- Complete training in all areas of production positions.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS: - Must be capable of exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently, 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Must be capable of moving up and down stairways and ladders to perform some job assignments.
- Other physical requirements consist of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, bending, twisting, talking and hearing.
- Must be able to read, write and speak as well as perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to work efficiently at a fast pace.
