SUMMARY:

The Inventory Manager directs and manages materials management, warehousing, receiving, production scheduling, material planning / handling, material distribution to work cells, packaging, inventory control / accuracy, cycle counting and customer / vendor interface.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise material planning, ensure optimal inventory levels, and maintains stock accuracy through the establishment of effective inventory controls.
  • Develop annual cycle count program that s meets business needs and meets compliance for all internal and external audits.
  • Determine the annual department goals and objectives. Effectively communicate these throughout the department and implement action with a sense of urgency to ensure the attainment of overall company goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop an efficient workflow that will ensure customer demands are met.
  • Ensure the accuracy of shipments to external customers.
  • Manage Continuous Improvement within the department in conjunction with the continuous improvement activities of the facility.
  • Ensure materials required for manufacturing operations are available when needed. This includes having reasonable stock of finished goods, work in process, and stock available.
  • Understand and manage system processes for ERP and warehouse management systems.
  • Lead the department with a high standard of performance, personal integrity, and fairness.
  • Consult with internal customers (manufacturing departments) to improve upon current materials/logistics processes; implement appropriate corrective actions or improvements.
  • Review and analyze reports and data to determine causes of production scheduling and material management problems; implement effective corrective action(s) to resolve the problems.
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures designed to eliminate customer delivery problems and improve delivery quality.
  • Confer with customer representatives as needed to build a successful working relationship.
  • Perform above duties in a Behr Production Systems structured work environment, while consistently obtaining published local and global objectives in a team-oriented setting.


Management Responsibilities:

  • Manage both the salaried and hourly employees in the Inventory and Material department.
  • Direct Reports Include: Inventory Control Supervisors, Group Leads and Material Planners.
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises Inventory Control and Material team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor s Degree required, B.S. in Engineering, Supply Chain, Administration, or a comparable field preferred.
  • Ten or more years experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain distribution and minimum of five years of progressive responsibility regarding materials management or manufacturing operations.
  • 5+ years experience (preferred min. 3 years) with ERP Warehouse Management Systems required - preferred knowledge of SAP MM (Materials Management), SAP-SD (Sales & Distribution), SAP-PP (Production Planning), and SAP-WM (Warehouse Management System).
  • Experience with Cycle Count Programs and completed Live Physical Inventory (including working with Autitors), as well as implementing and maintaining JIT and pull inventory control methods.
  • AutoStore Log Bas experience (connects data w SAP) Okay if Oracle vs SAP
  • Supervisory experience (will supervise 2-3 supervisors who have 10 employees per shift non-exempt)
  • Some Multilingual skills a bonus (Spanish and/or German)
  • Experience inventory of corrugated or packaging materials
  • Experience in an automotive or heavy-duty truck manufacturing facility required.
  • Proficiency in an MRP II system required.
  • Performs at a high level of energy with the ability to cope with variable levels of stress.
  • Experience with Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) APICS
  • Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks with high level of accountability.
