Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team supporting a well-known insurance client. In this role, you will be pivotal in designing and implementing advanced AI solutions that leverage generative AI and natural language processing (NLP). You will not only focus on the technical aspects of solution design and delivery but also engage actively in developing innovative applications using the latest AI technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of advanced AI solutions using large language models (LLMs).
- Architect and develop cutting-edge SaaS LLM solutions, including Langchain, Llama Index, and vector databases.
- Drive prompt engineering initiatives to optimize model accuracy and efficiency.
- Innovate and develop advanced NLP applications, such as classification, question-answering, chatbots, search, document intelligence, and summarization.
- Strategically utilize the Azure AI stack, including OpenAI Service, Cognitive Search, Promptflow, and Form Recognizer.
- Collaborate closely with senior data scientists and cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate AI solutions into business processes.
- Stay at the forefront of AI advancements by continuously learning and applying new techniques to enhance existing models and solutions.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, data science, or a related field. Master s degree or PhD is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in Python.
- Proven experience with generative AI and NLP.
- Experience in SaaS LLMs and prompt engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Azure AI tools and services.
- Strong background in deep learning, unsupervised, and supervised learning.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in mentoring junior team members.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Pay:
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $115,000 to $180,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus for the current performance period.

As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time. In addition, you are eligible to participate in the Company 401(k) Plan after 30 days of employment, in accordance with the applicable plan terms. The Company provides for 11 paid holidays and 12 weeks of Parental Leave. We also follow a free time PTO policy, allowing you the flexibility to take the time needed for either sick time or vacation.
