Handling shipments for both domestic and international customers, from the packaging stage to the actual shipment. Ensure compliance with import/export regulations in accordance with Federal and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Works closely with forwarding companies to secure on-time shipments.Essential duties and responsibilities
Prepare all domestic and export documentation for the effective transport of any local, domestic or international shipment, in compliance with any appropriate regulationsSource generic and custom-sized packaging materials and crates for safe transportation of all productsCollaborate and build relationships with customers, carriers, and agent representatives regarding air and ocean importTrack and trace shipments, researching and resolving any issues regarding billing or shipping discrepancies; communicate in timely manner with both customers and vendorsOperate UPS and FEDEX package system for shippingPull product from bin locations as per sales ordersCollaborate and build relationships with customers, carriers, and agent representatives regarding air and ocean import to strengthen service competitivenessFollow ISO policy & proceduresStrictly adhere to BTU safety proceduresSkills and knowledge
Extensive knowledge of industry and U.S. export and import requirementsExceptionally strong attention to detail and good communications skillsMust be extremely organized and have the ability to prioritize and respond to sudden changes in prioritiesMust be able to lift 50+lbs and meet the physical demands of the jobInteracts well with internal customers including peers, supervisors, managers and external customers including delivery and truck driversGeneral knowledge of ERP system (Epicor Vantage experience a plus)Self-motivated individual with high level of enthusiasmOperate UPS and FEDEX package systems for shippingProficient in Microsoft Office applications Excel, Word, OutlookEducation and experience
